Appointed in February 2026, Adam Estrup is the Independent Chair of the VetSalus Board. Adam is an experienced adviser, communicator, and executive with more than 25 years of international experience in animal health and life sciences.
Adam’s career has spanned journalism, communications, public affairs, association leadership, consultancy, and governance. He previously served as Executive Director of Veterinary Industry Nordic and as a twice-elected Vice President of AnimalhealthEurope, representing the Nordic region in European policy and regulatory discussions.
Adam is passionate about bringing people, organisations, and ideas together around practical solutions. At VetSalus, he works to strengthen collaboration across animal health, animal welfare, sustainability, and food systems, helping ensure that veterinary expertise translates into meaningful real-world impact while retaining a One Health approach.
Reflecting on his first four months as Independent Chair of the VetSalus Board, Adam Estrup shares what sets the organisation apart:
'What has struck me most is that VetSalus combines scientific and veterinary expertise with a strong commitment to practical outcomes. We are not a think tank or a discussion forum. We help clients navigate complex challenges to include animal health, animal welfare, sustainability, food security, and antimicrobial stewardship and translate ambition into action.
From a personal perspective, much of my time has been spent listening, learning, asking questions, and discussing governance, strategy, and consultancy development. The learning curve remains steep, but I am more convinced than ever of our role as a trusted advisory platform’
