Flagship sustainability course for farm veterinary professionals open for registration

Vet Sustain and VetSalus are delighted to open registration and welcome our next cohort of participants to our flagship sustainability course for farm vets and paraprofessionals, with learning due to begin in May 2026. 

 ‘A Veterinary Approach to Sustainable Food and Farming’ is a 10 module course which takes an in-depth exploration into sustainable food systems, equipping participants with the expertise to help farming clients achieve their sustainability goals - for the benefit of animal welfare, rural communities, wildlife, and the environment

The course features referenced guides, quizzes, assignments and recommended reads and includes modules such as ‘The Sustainable Practitioner’, ‘Farming Systems of the World’, ‘Efficient Farming’, ‘Agro-ecology, Organic and Regenerative Agriculture’ and ‘Sustainable and Regenerative Business’. Each module features a Module Champion from Vet Sustain’s Food and Farming Working Group, who highlights the ways in which the course content is relevant and can be applied to veterinary work. Participants will join an international community of veterinary professionals and will be invited to attend live online tutorials to consolidate the learning material, address specific questions and prompt discussions.

The course was developed by experienced veterinarians who understand how hard it is to find flexible online learning which fits around busy work and life schedules. We pride ourselves on supporting participants throughout their learning journey and beyond.

Background Information

‘A Veterinary Approach to Sustainable Food and Farming’ was developed by the social enterprise Vet Sustain in partnership with VetSalus. Created by a collaborative team of experienced practitioners, the course launched in July 2022 and has since attracted more than 100 participants from across the globe. The course is accredited by LANTRA, one of the leading awarding bodies for land-based industries in the UK and Republic of Ireland. VetSalus are proud to collaborate with our industry partners the British Cattle Veterinary Association, New Zealand Veterinary Association and VetKraft, to support livestock veterinarians and veterinary technicians internationally.
