Line Ferriman is a veterinarian, dairy farm owner, and the driving force behind Cowsmart™, a consultancy and reporting business specialising in automated animal health technologies for cattle.

She works closely with both farmers and their key veterinarians, gathering and analysing data to assess herd performance, identify areas for improvement, and enhance farm efficiency. By delivering detailed reports and insights, she ensures that veterinarians have access to valuable, real-time information to support their clinical decisions and strengthen their relationships with farmers. Through consultation and discussion, she helps refine management strategies, optimise procedures, and plan for the future.

Line earned her Bachelor's and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degrees from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, graduating in 2014. She later completed the Australasian National Veterinary Examination and is a registered veterinarian in New Zealand. In addition to her consultancy work, she is an active member of the International Dairy Federation Committee for Animal Health and Welfare and contributes to multiple Action Teams investigating key industry challenges such as heat stress in dairy cattle, reproductive technologies, and sensor applications in herd management.

As both a veterinarian and a dairy farm owner, Line understands the importance of a holistic approach to herd management. She works to ensure that veterinarians and farmers can effectively utilise real-time data to make informed decisions. By integrating technology with clinical insights, she helps support a balanced approach to animal health, reproduction, and farm efficiency, strengthening the collaboration between vets and farmers in managing herd well-being.
