Friederike Voss graduated from veterinary college in Hannover in 2005. During her studies, she developed a fascination with herd health management of dairy cows and calves, a field she has increasingly focused on over time.
Her main goal is to work with healthy animals. Analysing data is a crucial tool for her to identify the root of problems and find possible solutions. For her, this means not only considering how to treat an animal but also how to effectively improve the overall well-being and health of cows and calves. Another goal is to help farmers understand and appreciate how vets, as advisors in herd health management and data analysis, can make a significant difference both in terms of health and economics.
This passion led her to found a one-year education program for farmers, where the vets from her clinic, along with a feeding adviser, teach farmers about health and feeding issues, with a strong focus on prevention. Her daily work involves a lot of dairy reproduction, farm visits to check on fresh cows, and calf health management. Another key aspect of her work is building teams of different advisors to find individual solutions for farmers facing herd health and management problems.
In her free time, Friederike enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in outdoor sports, and playing music.
