Meet our Experts - Tanja Nielsen

Tanja Nielsen is part of our network of experts, read on to find out a little more about her work.

Tanja Nielsen is an experienced farm veterinarian having spent 12 years primarily working in herd health management, with 8 of those years self-employed. Tanja is highly engaged in communicating and mediating knowledge to farmers, farm staff, and veterinary students. She is organised, professional, likeable, and excels at communicating with diverse groups of people.

Tanja possesses a high degree of professional competence and continually expands her knowledge through courses, self-study, and practical work. In addition to her work in practice, she has participated in various projects, including an Arla project on mortality (completed in late 2023), writing articles, and producing educational content for farmers on social media.

As a competent consultant, Tanja combines her practical experience with a strong eagerness to learn and her skills in mediating educational and professional content. These abilities enable her to communicate effectively across different levels of knowledge, making complex professional content accessible to everyone, regardless of their educational background. Her personality allows her to be both likeable and professional.

Professionally, Tanja is interested in herd health management, providing advice based on farm data, and focusing on calves/youngstock, reproduction, and feeding. She considers herself competent in all relevant areas of dairy farming, with a special interest in these topics. Additionally, she has taken extra courses in calves/youngstock, reproduction, and ‘fagdyrlæge,’ and is currently attending an advanced course in udder health.
