This role is initially being advertised as a maternity cover with potential for a job share situation following the initial 6-10 month period. The role may be suitable for 1 or 2 individuals dependent on previous experience.
Qualifications and previous experience: The successful applicant will be expected to have a good science background, preferably a degree in biological science. Previous experience in a veterinary or agricultural role will be invaluable. Good computer skills, in particular a high level of familiarity with social media, including Twitter and LinkedIn, will also be necessary.
Main roles:
Be responsible for VetSalus general marketing in particular co-ordinating social media activity on Twitter, LinkedIn and website. Creation of a social media rosta and coordination of articles and chasing up of technical content
Be responsible for administration around VetSalus board meetings and Vet Sustain working group meetings;
Creation of the agenda
Providing updates on specific areas and projects
Minute taking and circulation
Following up on actions
Assist group members of projects, coordinating with project leads and assisting with preparation of presentations and papers being published by VetSalus and Vet Sustain
To assist board in expanding the VetSalus network by supporting correspondence with existing contacts, researching new contacts and opportunities and liaising with new consultants
To work closely with Vet Sustain, particularly working as resource to build food and farming sustainability tools and resources and generally enhancing the co-operative relationship between the two groups
Job hours: The role is initially sized at 0.5FTE with flexi hours permissible and working from home being the norm.
Salary: To be negotiated depending on the level of skill and experience provided by the applicant. The successful applicant is expected to be able to provide their own computer, internet access and mobile phone. All calls made on behalf of VetSalus and any necessary travel costs incurred on behalf of VetSalus will be recompensed.
