Meet our Experts - Mark Burnell

Mark Burnell is part of our network of experts, read below to find out a little more about his work.

Mark Burnell has been working in dairy practice for over 30 years. In 1991 he gained the Dutch Foot Trimming Diploma from the Dairy Training Centre in Oenkerk, Netherlands. He holds the RCVS Certificate in Cattle Health and Reproduction (1993) and the Diploma in Bovine Reproduction from Liverpool University (2004).

He was the Clinical Director at Synergy Farm Health, a large farm animal practice in the South/South-West of England. In 2010 he won the Farmers Weekly Livestock Advisor of the Year Award and in 2019 became a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Mark now works part-time and concentrates on delivering breeding advice to dairy farms often incorporating the use of genomics in replacement females.
