Vets have an important role to play

In a recent article in the Veterinary Record (see Vet Record, 16th June 2018), the role of farm vets in delivering a balanced view on modern farming systems was recognised. Jan Vennerman, director of the European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders said that farm vets could have an important role in countering the more negative views on livestock farming. Vennerman told the Vet Record that he believed most vets would not record current farming systems as cruel, adding that "Of course, things can always be done better.
